The Uncapped ADSL services are a cost effective, fast and permanent connection to the Internet, with no limit or cap on bandwidth usage. Some services allow for hosting of webserver and email servers on-site using 5 x Static IP addresses, Shaped and Unshaped options, own Router or a supplied Router, on Monthly and Annual contracts - every option available to high usage home and business users.

Digital Subscriber Line, or DSL, is a family of technologies, used to provide a digital connection between a home or office users telephone (and PC) and the local telephone exchange. DSL still uses the same copper cables that ordinary analogue phones use. The different types of DSL connection are mainly differentiated by the throughput speed of the connection, such as 384, 512, 1024 or 4096 kbps.

In order to obtain Business ADSL connectivity to the Internet, you will require various separate components, namely

  • An ADSL line, obtained from Telkom; and
  • An Business ADSL Internet access package from Eject, and
  • An ADSL Router (on Business and Fibre services) from Eject, or
  • An ADSL Modem (on Express and Dynamic services) from a computer store or from Eject, and
  • Optional email, Domain, Website or anti-virus services from Eject

ADSL lines are not available from Telkom in all exchanges. Please confirm whether or not your exchange is ADSL enabled.

You can order an ADSL line by phoning 10219 (You will need to provide an existing phone number, in order for Telkom to determine whether you can obtain an ADSL line at your location). Do not subscribe to Telkom Bandwidth, and do not order an ADSL Modem if you intend using Eject Uncapped services.

If you have an existing Telkom ADSL line, or before your ADSL line is installed, download the Eject Business ADSL Application form, complete it and fax to 08665-35371.

Contact us to subscribe to the Dynamic Uncapped services on a monthly contract, with minimal paperwork required.

Shaped: bandwidth is shaped so that essential email/browsing/ftp protocols get normal speed, whilst Peer2Peer, File sharing and other  bandwidth intensive protocols get lower priority.

Unshaped: All protocols get an equal priority.

The rate or speed, at which you are able to download from the Internet, via your ADSL line is affected by a number of factors, including the speed of the line between your premises and the local telephone exchange. This is an absolute maximum of 4096 kbps downstream and 512 kbps upstream, although Telkom does not guarantee it. Telkom are trialling higher speeds at certain exchanges.
