HSDPA Modems and Routers:The modem you choose depends on your PC(s) and/or Laptop capabilities, plus the operating system you intend to use, and how many users you wish to connect: Order one of the Router models to connect multiple users, as the routers have an Ethernet (LAN) interface, WiFi, and Firewall - which allows many workstations and servers to be securely connected to the internet (via a Switch). The USB (Universal Serial Bus) modem is the size of a memory stick and suitable for most PC/Laptops/Servers. The modem can be swopped from a laptop to a PC to a server if required, for a single user. The USB modem is the size of a memory stick and has software built-in and self-installs. The PC Card (or PCMCIA Card) is a peripheral interface designed for laptop computers, for a single user. It will not fit into a PC (without a special adapter). The Express Card is a hardware standard replacing PC cards, in newer laptops, for a single user. It will not fit into a PC (without a special adapter). Operating Systems:Refer to Modem specs for each device, but all modems are supported on Windows 2000, ME, XP, and Vista. Most newer modems are supported on Apple MAC OS X. For Linux see the unofficial Linux 3G and Hsdpa site for advice and information on the Option Globetrotter range of data cards. The GlobeSurfer1 and 2 Routers do not require any software or drivers - connecting via Ethernet - they can be used on any operating system and allow multiple users to connect through as a gateway.
